Software overview and main features

UFS Explorer Video Recovery is a professional solution focused on challenges related to data recovery from CCTV systems and driving recorders. In addition to all sorts of common digital media, the software makes it possible to restore videos from most surveillance devices, whether they have a regular layout or some vendor-specific file system, like DHFS, WFS, Mirage, HIK, Pinetron or BKFL. Also, the application works with a variety of stream formats and video compression codecs that are usually not handled by common data recovery tools. Even in situations when the footage got corrupted or partially overwritten, the software allows achieving a satisfactory result thanks to its intelligent reconstruction techniques: each frame of a video stream gets validated and connected with the related frames, and then the obtained result is packed in a universal media container file. The recovered videos can be viewed both in the program and with any standard media player. At the same time, the video content of frames is not altered, which allows using the footages as reliable digital evidence.

Equipped with additional tools and options, the software makes it easy to extract videos created on a certain date/by a particular camera, or convert it into a series of still images. Its diverse reporting possibilities facilitate the analysis of the allocation of video frames on the drive, as well as control over the integrity of files.

Bedsides its video-related functionality, the program offers means for operations with specific storage technologies, complex RAID-based systems, encrypted drives, virtual disks of popular virtualization software, disk images, including ones of EnCase and FTK Imager, failing or unstable storage devices.

The most distinguishing features of UFS Explorer Video Recovery are:

  • Support for a broad range of special CCTV formats

  • Enhanced recovery of recordings created by vehicle DVRs

  • Intelligent algorithms for video reconstruction

  • Automatic repacking of footages into a universal file format

  • Saving damaged video frames as pictures

  • Immediate preview of videos, including vendor-specific file types

  • Optional filters for the date/time range, surveillance camera

  • Checksum calculation for the obtained files

  • Inspecting the allocation of frames that constitute a video

  • Saving a recording as a sequence of images

  • Work with forensic disk images (EnCase, FTK Disk Imager)

  • Equally efficient recovery of non-video data

  • Support for many particular storage technologies

  • Decryption techniques for encrypted volumes

  • Work with standard and specific RAID schemes
