UFS Explorer settings
Some functions and appearance of UFS Explorer could be customized. Among the features to customize are: character code page for non-unicode file systems, RAW recovery signatures, disk appearance and visible disk size, program interface language.
File system access
Available in main menu for active (opened) file system. You can set here default characters conversion for non-unicode file systems. To invoke settings, user 'Settings' -> 'File system access' main menu command.
Default conversion type is UTF-8. Set file names conversion type, depending of actual encoding type/code page used.
RAW recovery signatures
Available in main menu. Specify here user-defined file signatures for RAW recovery. Detailed instructions are given here.
Disk settings
Available from disk context menu. Specify here custom disk name, visible in interface and custom disk size. Sometimes Windows detects disk size not correctly (some sectors might be not visible by controller or there are performed internal geometry conversion, making disk size some smaller). Real disk size might be very critical for data recovery from RAID arrays, having JBOD spanning; any difference in disk size would cause data bias and thus invalid place of file system structures.
If you are sure disk size shown is not correct, you may force UFS Explorer to set new disk size to operate.
Warning: operations over accessible disk space on USB/FireWire controllers may cause controller to hang! Operations with controller in hang state might be restored only after device re-connection of system restart!
To invoke disk settings, double-click the disk or use 'Show/Edit properties' option from context menu.
Interface language
Available in main menu. You may switch UFS Explorer interface language by choosing 'Settings' -> 'Interface language' command from main menu. Select new language. Restart the application to make changes to take effect.
Note: UFS Explorer uses special language configuration files for additional languages. In case language file is not accessible for current language, UFS Explorer resets to English (built-in).
