Cross-platform UFS Explorer version 4 products

The major software update to UFS Explorer version 4 products, including Raise Data Recovery products.

This software release finally introduces new, cross-platform user interface to UFS Explorer products. The new UFS Explorer look and feel targets simpler software operations and fits to both home users and experts in data recovery. The base logics of the software was also ported to Linux and BSD operating system platforms that along with new cross-platform user interface allows to run special software builds under most major Linux operating systems and modern FreeBSD/PC BSD distributions.

The software has reduced set of operating system dependencies and may run on most Windows distributions (from NT4 SP6 and up to Windows 7), all modern Linux or FreeBSD distributions, even in pure X Windows environment and LiveCD.

Registered users of older version 4 products may move now to new Windows editions of version 4.5 products for free.

The next major update of UFS Explorer version 3 products to version 3.16.

This software release applies pending problem fixes to UFS Explorer core functions that were first implemented in version 4 of UFS Explorer products.

This release also modifies and simplifies software registration and activation procedure, as well as reduces download file size.

Customization of file copying/recovery process. Now UFS Explorer supports behaviour customization for duplicated files: overwrite, skip or rename, including bulk file rename.
Other usability functions such as context menu modifications and so on.

This release also fixes several known issues such as:

Eventual slow program start when RAID component disks are attached.
Fixed known problems with user interface graphics.

This is recommended update that is applicable to all UFS Explorer version and editions, including UFS Explorer extension modules (plugins).

This release migrates UFS Explorer products to newer core functions and brings:

Update to user interface module of version 4.x products;
Enhanced deleted files recovery functions for Ext2/Ext3 file systems in version 4.x products;
Enhanced file recovery functions for Adaptec UFS file system in version 3.x products;
ZFS file system support to all version 3.x products;
Other usability and recovery-related functions.

ZFS support in UFS Explorer Standard Access

Starting version 4.3, the UFS Explorer Standard Access product has limited, experimental support of ZFS file system.
This includes access to files on ZFS disk partitions with support of multiple data sets.

Current implementation supports only standard data compression with LZJB algorithm and does not support RAID-Z configurations.

About ZFS: ZFS file system was developed by Sun Microsystems for their Solaris OS and now is reused to implement large corporate storages and NAS systems. Official support of ZFS file system in UFS Explorer products begins from UFS Explorer Standard Access version 4.3 and will be extended to future version of 'Recovery' editions (version 4) products.

Raise Data Recovery for HFS+!

The Raise Data Recovery for MacOS HFS+ is now released. The product is intended for self-service data recovery from Apple Mac formatted disks and partitions (HFS+ file system) and allows to recover data from lost or damaged file system as well as recover recently deleted files.

For HFS+ journaled file system it's possible to recover sub-set of most recently deleted files, even with their real file names and directory structure.

The older deleted files still could be recovered by type with advanced IntelliRAW tool.

Raise Data Recovery for ReiserFS!

The Raise Data Recovery for ReiserFS is now released. The product is intended for self-service data recovery from Reiser file system and allows to recover data from lost or damaged file system as well as recover recently deleted files.

For Reiser file system with copy-on-write file system metadata updates it's possible to recover recently deleted files, even with their real file names and directory structure.

The Reiser file system support is also enhanced in UFS Explorer Standard Access: now it works much faster.

The version 3.15 is the major update of version 3.x UFS Explorer products line. Apart of many cosmetic changes, there are now many new features in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery. Among them are:

full RAID 6 support:
UFS Explorer Professional Recovery now supports virtual reconstruction and data recovery from all most popular RAID 6, including even specific to ARECA RAID controllers.
RAID configuration import/export:
If you are working with several RAID systems, using complex RAID or just not sure about RAID configuration - you may now virtully build the RAID and export the configuration to RAID definition files. After this you may restore any of RAID configurations with few mouse clicks. UFS Explorer supports auto-open of RAID component disk images files as well as supports RAID-on-RAID configurations.
Integration with Runtime Software RAID Reconstructor product:
RAID definitions in format of Virtual Image files (.vim) now could be imported to UFS Explorer to recover files from non-Windows file systems.

XFS Data Recovery: now with undelete

The completely new XFS file system data recovery tool set was implemented in Raise Data Recovery for XFS, the next product that continues Raise Data Recovery family, based on UFS Explorer Core4 base logics.
It extends current XFS data recovery tools with real 'undelete' that in most cases allows to recover recently deleted files, even with their real file names.

This 'undelete' tool, as well as other tools that allow data recovery from XFS, including damaged files ystem reconstruction, 'unformat', lost file system recovery and so on are available in new version 4 products that includes Raise Data Recovery for XFS and future versions of UFS Explorer version 4 products (Recovery editions).

The XFS file system was developed by SGI company for their IRIX servers. At present this file system is widely used in many Linux distributions, as well as on many popular Network Attached Storages (NAS) from major vendors.

Problems fixes to UFS Explorer products

Several problems were fixed in UFS Explorer products (version 3.14.1). Among them are eventual software crash on data recovery from large (over 1TB) XFS partitions (Standard/Professional Recovery editions) and eventual software crash or no files list on big-endian UFS/UFS2 partitions (UFS Explorer - all versions).
It's recommended to update your software copy to most recent version.

64 bit computing power for Data Recovery

SysDevSoftware is the one of first companies who introduces Data Recovery products for native Windows x64 (64 bit) environment.

At present sizes of storages growing much and data reconstruction from damaged file system or deleted files search could be real pain for legacy 32 bit Data Recovery applications. In legacy 32 bit mode memory size for stand-alone application is limited to 2GB and couldn't be extended nor by physical memory nor by paged memory file extension. But data reconstruction process from even 1TB NAS could come very close to this limit. What to do for larger storages?
