- What are differences between 32 bit software and 64 bit software?
The 32 bit applications may run on 32 bit operating system and are limited to 2GB of virtual memory that could be not enough to virtually reconstruct large file systems. The 32 bit applications for Microsoft Windows may run under 64 bit Windows in compatibility mode, however with the same 2GB virtual memory limit. This limit does not depend of RAM capacity or page file size.
The 32 bit applications for Linux/BSD will not run under 64 bit Linux/BSD.
The 64 bit applications (on practice) are limited by available memory only, however may only run on 64 bit operating systems.
- What are Raise Data Recovery products and are they better?
The Raise Data Recovery are the custom editions of UFS Explorer Standard Recovery version 4. They are limited to support a single file system only. These products are distributed at lower price and could be a good choice if you are using single file system type (e.g. NTFS) or planning one-time data recovery.
The Raise Data Recovery products can still detect and browse all the file system types supported by UFS Explorer, however may copy data from single, specific file system only (e.g. Raise Data Recovery for XFS will copy data from XFS only even after software activation).
If you are planning to use software with more than one file system, consider of using UFS Explorer.
